Elder’s Words – How I Became a Naturist
My journey into naturism began when I was 12 years old, living in the southwest of France. During the summer holidays, my cousins, friends, and I would often spend our days exploring the forests and fields surrounding my uncle’s farm. One particularly hot day, we found ourselves playing in a small creek, cooling off and enjoying the summer sun.
As we dried ourselves on a little gravel beach, my cousin suggested we hang our clothes to dry faster. At first, we all joked about it, but soon enough, one by one, we decided to strip down and let our clothes dry in the sun. What started as an innocent way to cool off quickly turned into a liberating experience. Before long, we were spending more time outdoors in the nude, running through the fields and forests, feeling completely free.
It wasn’t just about being without clothes—it was about feeling a connection to nature in a way that we hadn’t experienced before. We began spending our days exploring the woods, completely comfortable with each other and our surroundings, and talking openly about life. Over time, I realised that naturism was much more than just physical—it was about the freedom to be yourself and embrace the natural world without judgment.
As the years passed, this love for naturism became a core part of my life. Even when I moved to other countries, I continued to seek out opportunities to connect with nature in its purest form. From secluded beaches to naturist communities, the feeling of freedom and acceptance I found in naturism has stayed with me throughout my life.
Now, as an Elder in the NaturismRE movement, I continue to share this philosophy with others, encouraging them to embrace the lifestyle, find peace with their bodies, and rediscover the joy of being in harmony with nature.
The Elder embraces the vastness of nature. The open stance symbolises freedom and connection, as if reaching out to the world, celebrating the liberating power of naturism. In the distance, nature is all around—an infinite space where one can truly feel alive and in harmony with the earth.
Beside the gently flowing creek, the Elder sits peacefully on a towel, the sound of water and the rustle of leaves forming nature’s symphony. His backpack rests nearby, a companion for the journey, while he takes a moment to reflect in quiet solitude. This serene scene captures the simplicity and beauty of naturism—being present, connected, and fully immersed in the natural world.
